A Phoenix tow runs under one of two fee tracks. What you actually pay depends on why the truck showed up.

The police impound track (ARS 28-3511)

  • $150 state administrative fee paid to Phoenix PD (ARS 28-3513 B).
  • $25 per day storage maximum under state law.
  • A 20 day hold. People sometimes call it the “30 day impound.” The statute is 20 days.
  • To get your car back: pay the $150 at Phoenix PD Vehicle Impound Unit, 100 W. Washington St., (602) 495-2096, then take the release form to the assigned zone contractor yard and pay the tow plus storage.

The private property track (Phoenix City Code 36-6)

  • A non consent tow off a lot or apartment is capped at $105 if the vehicle reached storage.
  • $12 per day storage.
  • $20 maximum if you demand release before the vehicle leaves the spot.
  • $40 maximum if you demand release mid tow.

What Quick Tow Phoenix does not do: set a price. We connect drivers with independent licensed operators. The operator who shows up quotes the job. Frequently asked questions

What is the cheapest tow in Phoenix?

The cheapest tow is whichever track applies to your situation. A private property non consent tow is capped at $105 plus $12 per day in Phoenix. A police impound is a $150 state admin fee plus $25 per day storage. Quick Tow Phoenix does not set tow rates.

Is the $150 fee the full cost of a police impound?

No. The $150 is the state administrative fee paid to Phoenix PD under ARS 28-3513 B. On top of that you pay tow and storage at the assigned zone contractor yard. Storage is capped at $25 per day under ARS 28-3511.

Are towing fees regulated in Arizona?

Not statewide for private property tows. Arizona leaves the rate to the city. Phoenix sets the cap in City Code 36-6. Statewide rules cover signs (ARS 9-499.05) and police notification within one hour (ARS 28-4836). See our guide on towing fees in Arizona.

How long can the yard hold my car?

At least 20 days on a police impound under ARS 28-3511. Storage accrues at the capped rate during the hold. After 20 days the yard moves to lien and sale.
